Snake-tronic
My second ever game as an entry for my first ever jam! the Go Godot Jam 3 (theme: evolution).
Eat rabbits, turtles and frogs to gain their abilities on the next run of the game.
Controls:
- A, D = Steer the snake.
- W = Dash ability (when unlocked)
- S = Slow ability (when unlocked)
- Space = Jump ability (when unlocked)
Abilities:
- Eat 10 rabbits, turtles or frogs in a single life to unlock their ability and evolve on the next run.
- [Rabbit] Dash ability increases your speed 2x for 1 second.
- [Turtle] Slow ability decreases your speed by 0.5x for 1 second.
- [Frog] Jump ability increases your speed by 1.5x for 0.5 seconds and disables collisions with your own body so you can "jump" over yourself.
The game is left in a prototype stage, as I didn't manage my time and couldn't implement all the features I wanted, along with essentials like sprites and SFX. I'll come back to this as I really enjoyed this project and there's much I still want to add. Also, the game name is a meme.
Known issues:
- When spamming A and D to curve the snake, the head will detach from the body slowly. This is due to how the curve is calculated.
Credits:
- Font: Monogram by datagoblin.
- Sprites: Controller & Keyboard Icons by vryell. Only used few keyboard sprites.
